The inhabitants of Leh Ladakh are originally Dards from Indo-Aryan ethnicity. People who migrated from Tibet introduced their own religious traditions and culture here. The Tibetan population lives mostly in the central part of Ladakh.
Day 1 : Delhi – Leh
Early morning depart for Leh from Delhi. Arrive Leh Airport & be received by representative and transfer hotel  Full day rest at Leh to get acclimatized. Leh is the Headquarter of Leh District and the largest Town in Ladakh region. It is located to 10 km north from the fertile valley of Indus river at an altitude of 11,500 ft.. In stark contrast of the giant ‘White Mountain’ and Cold Desert stretch the flourishing city of Leh. A one-stop destination to experience Tibet right here in India.

Day 2 : Leh
Full Day excursion to visit Traktok. Above the village of Sakti, is Traktok Gompa, the sole representative in Ladakh of the Nying-ma-pa, the most ancient religious order was founded in the regain of Tshewang Namgyal in the 16th century. It is constructed round one of the innumerable caves in the Himalaya and trans-Himalaya where Padmasambhava is believed to have stopped and mediated during his journey to Tibet, and this forms the innermost shrine, while a little further down another cave serves as the kitchen. The small Du-khang has the usual paintings on the verandah, and on the inside walls recent murals, mostly of fierce divinities. His Holiness the Dalai Lama consecrated a new temple in 1980. After lunch, proceed to Hemis - which is dedicated to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observes a series of scenes in which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich, brightly colored brocade and sporting masks sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in solemn dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center of the courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn. Hemis was found in the 1630's by Tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of Singe Namgyal, Hemis is the largest and richest of the Ladakh Gompas. It nestles into the mountainside a little way up a glen in the mountains of Zanskar range Return to Leh for Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Leh
An important trading center, Leh is an explicit market exquisite thing across boundaries of Ladakh.  Carpets, rugs, and pashmina shawls from Kashmir, Persian motif, jewellery from
Tibet made of semi precious stone. Thangka paintings, prayer wheels, music bowls are other curios you can take back as a souvenirs
Glimpses of ruins of ancient castles are worth capturing in your cameras. A simple yet pleasing and comfortable stay at a local hotel will keep you geared-up for your trek to Ladakh Palace and climb many stairs to Shanti Stupa. We shall visit to traditional Ladakhi home and to add thought for food relish the barley beer- chang, and stable food tsampa with the famous butter tea. A stopover at two Gompas (monasteries) Spituk Thiksey and Phyang will allow you to experience the calmness and spirituality among the monks and discover your inner self.

Day 4: Leh
The fourth day we shall visit Hemis the largest monastery in Ladakh, the Gompa of Hemis is located 45 km from Leh. The Red Hat sect of Buddhism built it.  The walls are adorned with beautiful frescoes and the largest Thangka painting in the world depicting Guru Padmasambhava is preserved here. It also the abode of the Sakyamuni Buddha statue made of precious stones. Lamas rejoicing the birth of Guru Padmasambhava perform chaams or masked dances at the famous Hemis Festival. The festival also includes a vibrant bazaar where craftsmen sell handcrafted items.

Day 5: Leh - Uleytokpo
Next morning we shall depart for Uleytokpo en-route Likir Monastery. The fifth king of Ladakh, Lama Duwang Chosje in 11th century built the Likri Gompa. This monastery belongs to the yellow Hat sect whose founder was Tsong-kha-pa. The monastery is named Likri which means “The Nagas – Encircled” and because it was surrounded by the two great serpent spirits, the Nagas Rajas- Nanda and Taksakro. A resident site for 120 monks, this Gompa is also a school for approx 30 students. The monastery has a rich collection of paintings, robes, and artifacts.
Later visit Alchi Gompa . The wonderful village of Alchi is famous for the existence of one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh with antique wall paintings dated back to 1st century. Later check-in at the Uleytokpo Ethnic Resort & enjoy hot lunch there. Alchi Choskor "Religious Enclave" is 69 km. west of Leh, the most famous and largest of all the Gompa built by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo. A splendid piece of architecture the Sculptors and Wood carvers were brought from Kashmir around in 11th Century. A drive of three Km will lead to RizongGompa. It involves 2 Km of walk to reach main Gompa called “Chomos". It's a small Gompa situated deep inside a narrow valley. Rizong "Vuma Changchubling" around 73 km west of Leh, and north of the Indus River from Uleytokpo village. It is beautifully set in a valley, deep inside a gorge and the most isolated monastery in Ladakh.  Return to Uleytokpo Camp for all meals & Overnight stay.
 
Day 6 : Uleytokpo - Lamayuru - Uleytokpo
After breakfast leave for Lamayuru with box lunch. Visit Lamayuru gompa. The Lamayuru Monasteries is the largest and the oldest Gompa in Ladakh. Mahasiddhachaya Naropa founded it in 11th century. The masked dance festival held annually is a major attraction. The Gompa is situated in the steep rock mountains, 127 km west from Leh and belongs to the Red Hat sect of Buddhism. The monastery has a rich collection of Thangka and wall paintings. There are several legends associated with this monastery that you get to know as you explore around the Monastery. Return to Uleytokpo en-route visiting Resong monastery. Dinner and overnight stay in the Uleytokpo camp.

Day 7 : Uleytokpo - Leh
After breakfast return drive to Leh, check in to a hotel, and relax in your rooms to recharge after the tiring journey. . After the return trip back to Leh, witness an exotic evening with a sheer display of Ladakhi traditional dress and dance at a cultural show organized especially for you. The following day is free for individual activities. Some people may choose to go for an optional rafting trip, others may want to visit the Tibetan Refugee village in Choglamsor, and some may just want to explore the bazaar for interesting trinkets.

Day 8: Leh - Nubra (Tirith)
 Early Morning Leave Leh for 3 Days Trip to NUBRA VALLEY passing thru Horzey & Gangles Village. The road then rises to reach Khardungla (5602 Mts.) the world's highest Motorable road & enjoy the landscape & the beautiful birds eye view of the Leh town. Halt for a picnic lunch at Khardong village + Another 35 Kms drive takes to Khalsar at Shyok Valley, where the scenery is all around. The road after crossing Khalsar Bridge at Shyok River enters Nubra Valley & then proceeds along the Nubra River to arrive in the afternoon at Tegar or Kyegar as locally called. Meals & Overnight stay in tents at Tirith Camp at Tirith. Afternoon visit Panamik Hot Springs that are rich in Sulphur contents & believed to have medicinal benefits. Dinner and overnight stay will be organized at the Camp.

Day 9: Tirith - Deskit / Hunder - Tirith
Early morning we shall depart to visit Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. After 30 Kms drive we will reach Khalsar Bridge. Deskit can be approached by driving parallel to Shyok River for 20 Kms. From the Historical & Tourist point of view, Deskit is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. Further drive from Deskit to Hunder, for another 15 - 20 Kms. At Hunder, you may take a Camel Ride on the Double Humped, Hairy, Bactrian Camels. Later drive back on the same road to your camp at Tirith.

Day 10 : Tirith - Leh
Breakfast at the Camp. Morning visit Samstenling Monastery, Next to the road at Sumur, which is 265 years old. Drive back the same route for Leh with picnic lunch. On arrival in Leh, check in at the Hotel. Afternoon explore surroundings of Leh.

Day 11: Leh

Witness an exotic evening with a sheer display of Ladakhi traditional dress and dance at a cultural show organized especially for you.
The following day is free for individual activities. Some people may choose to go for an optional rafting trip, others may want to visit the Tibetan Refugee village in Choglamsor, and some may just want to explore the bazaar for interesting trinkets.

Day 12 : Leh - Delhi
After early Breakfast at the hotel. In time transfer to airport for flight to Delhi.
